PULSEE, an energy co in Italy, had this lovely campaign, and I jumped right in. This was a really fun job and with the additional benefit of filming in Milan, which fyi, was where I was born. I love Milan. It pulls me in, makes me feel at home somehow, a place where memories come rushing back, longing for more focaccia and risotto. But anyway, back to Pulsee!
I was sent the script from a good friend, Karim Bartoletti, EP of Indiana Productions in Milan, (btw, does more Km than anyone else I know!) I love a challenge just as much as he probably does and this one was one of those creatively nice ones, but hard on budget. These are also fun to film because normally everyone is “all in” which means that its a constant WIP of ideas until we get it right.

One of the films is a story of everyday life in the morning, people in homes, small businesses, on their way to school, etc, a slice of life. The additional surprise is that the VO and the centre character is Stefano De Martino. A lovely guy who’s quite the superstar in Italy! He is a very popular TV host. So anyway, as we see simple everyday situations, as his v.o guides us. We also see him contemplating the day from a rooftop or jogging through the early morning streets. Finally, we see him in his “home” as he delivers his final lines. Great to work with, very approachable, likeable and professional, I’d work together in a heart beat!

Client was obviously PULSEE. CEO Alicia Lubrani, Head of marketing was Beatrice Colosio, and Sveva Giovinazzo producer. All were great to work with and very much involved in the production of the three spots and helped continuously, making the production nice and smooth!

Agency was GB22, CD’s were Vicky Gitto and Francesco Guerrera. Really cool to work with, felt like I was totally on the same page and a pleasure to brainstorm with. Agency producer was Marzia Griffini.
Filming in Milan is hard permit wise, always has been. We had to scout very quickly and send out the permits asap, very little time. Indiana production crew did a fantastic job. Alice Cigada, producer made it all effortless, “Jimi” Gian Mario Brugioni made it even easier, and Barbara Romanello rounded it up to make a fantastic team.

I can’t thank Diego Indraccolo and his team enough for making the shots look beautiful! And then there’s the 1st AD, Claudio Cingoli! Those of you who know, know! Such great energy and positivity always!
