I LOVE filming in LA. It just has a different quality, tone, vibe. Driving by and filming in one of the dozens of backlots, locations, streets, using lenses “that were used on Project Mary” for example, and just being able to work together with the LA crews who are fantastic and unique in a way that I, as a film lover, a movie sponge, a true fan, get to be a part of this historic film community, makes everything worth it. LA is suffering big time. You can feel it everywhere you go. Where once were bustling backlot streets , full of golf carts and roman centurions, are now empty. To help out as much as we can, when the opportunity arrises, we film in LA. Film crews need it, the studios need it, the families who once thrived off the movie business and are now in bad shape, need it. So it’s for this reason that filming here is amazing for so many different reasons besides the locations or the “usual” good weather!

This one was for California Lottery. A really great client and agency, David&Goliath. Creative lead was the founder, David Angelo and his team, Rob Casillas and Courtney Pulver. Also on the job were Evan Bross and Chris Davis. Agency producers, Paul Albanese and Jane Krull. As always, a fun affair working with these guys as they know their stuff and it’s a true collaborative process which makes the job so much more engaging.

Produced by nobodys AKA Four Twelve Films, EP Gabe Reiter and produced by Paul Ure. Pauls team included Prod Sup Dan Kalette, Asst Prod Sup, Miranda Hernandez, PA’s Evy and Lauren. What can I say, all lovely and everyone did an amazing job but I want to point out Joaquin Grey and his team, Alex, Gina, Vince and JT and Caleb who were always on set, there doing their thing.

I had the pleasure of working with Matthias Koenigswieser who I’ve been wanting to work with for some time. Finally the stars aligned and it was a real pleasure, very professional and has a great eye and team too. Big thanks to steadicam op, Chris Cunningham. 1ST AD, Jason Lombardo was excellent as always at making sure we got it all in the short days!
And then of course, a massive thanks to Corey Turner, the hero of the spot and Celeste Perez. But none of this would have so much fun without Richy Jackson and Sophia Hall. Richy was on top of it 100% and besides being a fantastic choreographer, was focused on making it better and getting as much out of Corey as possible.

Again, really fun one and special to be filming in LA. Will post the finished spot when it’s done.
